Series 7400 Single Phase 1+N UPS

Chapter 3

Installation Procedure

3.1 Introduction

WARNING

Do not apply electrical power to the UPS equipment before the arrival of the commissioning engineer

WARNING

The UPS equipment should be installed by a qualified engineer in accordance with the information contained in this chapter and the drawing package shipped inside the UPS cabinet.

WARNING

BATTERY HAZARDS

ØSpecial care should be taken when working with the batteries associated with this equipment. When connected together, the battery terminal voltage will exceed 400Vdc and is potentially lethal.

ØEye protection should be worn to prevent injury from accidental electrical arcs.

ØIf a ‘sealed’ battery leaks electrolyte, or is otherwise physically damaged, it should be placed in a container resistant to sulphuric acid and disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

ØIf electrolyte comes into contact with the skin, the affected area should be washed immediately.

This chapter contains information regarding the positioning and cabling of the one-plus-oneUPS equipment and batteries.

Because every site has its peculiarities, it is not the aim of this chapter to provide step-by-step installation instructions, but to act as guide as to the general procedures and practices that should be observed by the installing engineer.
