Device Options	■ Change the parallel port mode from
(continued)	Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP, the default
	setting) to standard, bidirectional, EPP or
	Enhanced Capabilities Port (ECP).
	■ Set video-out mode to NTSC (default), PAL,
	NTSC-J, or PAL-M.*
	■ Enable/disable all settings in the SpeedStep
	window. (When Disable is selected, the
	notebook runs in Battery Optimized mode.)
	■ Specify how the notebook recognizes
	multiple identical docking bases that are
	identically equipped. (Select Disable to
	recognize the docking bases as a single
	docking base; select Enable to recognize
	the docking bases individually, by serial
	number.)
	■ Enable/disable the reporting of the
	processor serial number by the processor
	to the software.
HDD Self Test Options	Run a quick comprehensive self test on hard
	drives in the system that support the test
	features.

* Video modes vary even within regions. However, NTSC is common in

North America; PAL, in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East; NTSC-J, in Japan; and PAL-M, in Brazil. Other South and Central American regions may use NTSC, PAL, or PAL-M.
