BATTERY BACK UP SYSTEM

This model includes a battery back up circuit that will maintain the clock and alarm settings in the event of a temporary power interruption. The battery back up system requires one 9-Volt battery, not included. The battery compartment is located on the back of the cabinet.

1.) Press downward on the battery door locking tab and remove the door.

2.) Attach a fresh 9-Volt alkaline battery to the battery contacts as shown, and push the battery back into the battery compartment.

3.) Replace the battery door.

If the power is interrupted the display will go off and the radio will not work. However the battery will maintain the clock and alarm settings in memory. When the power is restored the display will come on again and the clock and alarm settings will be correct.

The life of the battery will depend on the frequency and length of the power interruptions that you experience. For best results we suggest you install a fresh battery every 9 to 12 months. Always use a well-known brand of alkaline battery.
