Appendix B.1 General Information

Appendix B.1.1 Overview

The Data Collection Module (DCM) is designed to provide real-time data monitoring and data storage for the Liebert FS. The DCM collects data on virtually every event that occurs in the Liebert FS. Data such as speed, temperature and voltage are just a few of the data points that the DCM will be collect- ing and storing on its internal memory card. The DCM has an HTML interface, which means any Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape, is all that is required to access the Liebert FS data.

Appendix B.1.2 Features

The DCM comes equipped with four (4) RS-232 communication ports and a 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 port. The DCM runs on the Linux operating system, which resides on the internal compact flash memory card. Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) has been enabled on the DCM to allow easy inte- gration with an existing network.

Appendix B.2 DCM Installation and Configuration

Appendix B.2.1 Installation

The DCM has been installed at the front of the Liebert FS inside the door on the service panel and has been securely mounted adjacent to the AC auxiliary fused disconnect. The power cable and the serial communication cable have been connected at the factory as seen in Figure 104.
