The EPSON Perfection 1200U/Perfection 1200S/Perfection

1200PHOTO scanner offers the following features:

❏Optical resolution of 1200 dots per inch (dpi) for main

scanning, and 2400 dpi with micro step for sub scanning (36-

bit input, 24-bit output).

❏Start Button control for shortcut scanning operation.

❏Light body with A4/Letter size scanning area.

❏Full color or grayscale scanning. Capture your images with

over 16 million colors, or up to 256 shades of gray.

❏EPSON TWAIN lets you take full advantage of your scanner's

advanced features.

❏EPSON TWAIN's Unsharp Mask option automatically

sharpens the image to provide crisp detail.

❏EPSON TWAIN's “De-screening” option automatically

removes unwanted moiré patterns from scanned images for

higher quality output.

❏Auto Area Segmentation (AAS) allows you to sep arate text

from photographs on a page so that grayscale images are

clearer and text recognition is more accurate.

❏Text Enhancement Technology (TET) enhances text

recognition accuracy for optical character recognition (OCR)

scanning.

❏The Perfection 1200PHOTO includes the Film Adapter which

enables negative film and slide film to be scanned. The Film

Adapter is available as an option for the Perfection 1200S/

Perfection 1200U.

❏The Automatic Document Feeder which enables continuous

sheet scanning is available as an option.

Quality problems The entire image is distorted or blurred. Part of the image is distorted or blurred. c Edges of the document are not scanned. 7-14 Colors are patchy or distorted at the edges of the image. The image is faint or out of focus. The image is too dark. Straight lines in the image come out jagged. The image does not look the same as the original. 7-16 A line of dots is always missing from the scanned image. Moir (cross hatch) patterns appear in the scanned image during halftone scanning Colors differs from the original or look strange. 7-18 Colors on your monitor are different from those in the original image. Printed colors are different from those in the original image. The printed image is larger or smaller than the original. Scanned images cannot be printed or come out garbled when printed.
