Calibrating Your Screen

You must calibrate your screen and scanner to reproduce images

identical to the originals.

Note for Windows 98 and Macintosh users:

The introductory Screen Calibration dialog box will not appear. Follow

the instructions from step 2 below to calibrate your screen.

During the EPSON scanner software installation on Windows, the

following dialog box appears.

1. Click Next.

The image is too dark. Straight lines in the image come out jagged. The image does not look the same as the original. A line of dots is always missing from the scanned image. 7-14 A line of dots always appears in the scanned image. Moir (cross hatch) patterns appear in the scanned image during halftone scanning Colors differs from the original or look strange. Colors on your monitor are different from those in the original image. 7-16 Printed colors are different from those in the original image. The printed image is larger or smaller than the original. Scanned images cannot be printed or come out garbled when printed. The colors of negative film preview images look strange. 7-18 Software setup problems You cannot install EPSON TWAIN Pro. Page 7-20 Software operation problems You cannot start EPSON TWAIN Pro. You cant select optional equipment (Automatic Document Feeder or Transparency Unit). 7-22 Scanning problems Image is dark, with little or no detail. You cannot scan an image or you only get a few dots for the scanned image. Scanned image is too large. Poor character recognition during OCR scanning.
