Highlighting Words Hearing Words

Another way to look up words is by highlighting them in dictionary entries or word lists. You can then find their definitions, phrases, pronunciation or add them to My Word List.

1.At any text, press EINGABE to start the highlight.

To turn the highlight off, press .

2.Use the arrow keys to move the highlight to the word you want.

3. Press CLEAR when done.

The Deutsch/Englisch Professor PRO can pronounce English words that appear on almost any screen - in defi- nitions, inflection screens, spell correction lists, My Word List, and games. When you want to hear how an English word is pronounced, just highlight it and press TON.

To adjust the volume, turn the volume control on the side of the unit. You can plug headphones into the headphone jack which is just above the volume control. Try this example.

1.Type a word at the English Word Entry screen. For example, type knowledge.2.Press TON to hear it pro- nounced.

If the word had multiple pronuncia- tions, first highlight the form that you want, and then press TON.
