Turning the Camera On and Off

Shooting Mode

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the camera on. The lens will extend and the lens cover will open.

Press ON/OFF again to turn the camera off.

BTip: Switching to Playback Mode

Press the D button to start playback. Press the shutter button halfway to return to shooting mode.

CCautions

Forcibly preventing the lens from extending could cause damage or product malfunction.

Pictures can be affected by fingerprints and other marks on the lens. Keep the lens clean.

The ON/OFF button does not completely cut power to the camera.

Playback Mode

To turn the camera on and begin playback, press the D button for about a second.

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the camera off.

BTip: Switching to Shooting Mode

To exit to shooting mode, press the shutter button halfway. Press the D button to return to playback.

BTip: Auto Power Off

If no operations are performed for 10s (the default setting), the monitor will dim to save power. Using any button restores full brightness. The camera will turn off automatically if no operations are performed for the length of time selected in the AUTO POWER OFF menu (see page 90). To turn the camera on, press the ON/OFF button or press the D button for about a second.
