Troubleshooting eIf you think the camera is faulty, check the following once more.
The self-timer lamp
does not light when
charging the battery.
The self-timer lamp
blinks during charging
and I can’t charge the

iLoad the battery.
iConnect the camera and AC power
adapter correctly.
iTake the battery out briefly and then

iLoad the battery in the correct direction.
iClose the battery cover properly.

iPut the battery in your pocket or another
warm place to heat it and then load it
into the camera just before you take a

iLoad a fully charged battery.
iLoad an xD-Picture Card.
iInsert a new xD-Picture Card or erase
some unwanted frames.
iFormat the xD-Picture Card.
iWipe the xD-Picture Card contact area
with a clean dry cloth.

iSwitch the camera on.
iLoad a new fully charged battery.
iWait until charging is completed before
pressing the shutter button.
iSet the flash mode to Auto, Red-Eye
Reduction or Forced Flash (The flash
cannot be used in some modes).
Set continuous shooting to OFF.
iIn the Photography menu, set the
sensitivity to 800 or less.
iSet the continuous shooting option to
something other than “Long-period
Continuous Shooting”.
iMove to within the effective flash range
before taking the shot.
iHold the camera correctly.

formatted on a computer.
Use an xD-Picture Card that was formatted on
the camera.
