Using the Menus: Shooting Mode

GAF MODE

This option controls how the camera selects the focus area when Intelligent Face Detection is off (pg. 21). Regardless of the option selected, the camera will focus on the subject in the center of the monitor when macro mode is on (pg. 26).

r CENTER: The camera fo- P cuses on the subject in the

center of the frame. This option can be used with

focus lock.

s MULTI: When the shutter button is pressed halfway, the camera detects high-contrast sub- jects near the center of the frame and selects the focus area automatically (if the focus frame is not displayed, select rCENTER and use focus lock; pg. 24).
