Sensitivity

The camera’s sensitivity to light can be adjusted by pressing the ISO button and rotating the command dial until the desired value is highlighted in the display.

Higher values can be used to reduce blur when lighting is poor; note, however, that mottling may appear in pictures taken at high sensitivities, particularly at settings above 1600. If AUTO or an option such as AUTO (3200) is selected, the camera will adjust sensitivity automatically in response to shooting conditions. In the case of AUTO (3200), AUTO (1600), AUTO (800), and AUTO (400), the value in parentheses is the maximum sensitivity that will be selected when the subject is poorly lit.

Settings other than AUTO are shown by an icon in the display.
