This option controls how the camera selects the focus area. Regardless of the option selected, the camera will focus on the subject in the center of the monitor when macro mode is on (pg. 27).

• rCENTER: The camera focus- M es on the subject in the cen-

ter of the frame. This option can be used with focus lock.

button is pressed halfway, the camera detects high-contrast subjects near the center of the frame and selects the focus area automati- cally (if the focus frame is not displayed, select rCENTER and use focus lock; pg. 24).
