7 Troubleshooting and tips

VCAUTION!

Follow the safety instructions in the chapter "Important notes" on page 27.

If a fault occurs, try to correct it as described:

in this chapter,

in the chapters for the installed components,

in the documentation for the connected devices,

in the help systems of the individual programs used.

If you do not manage to correct the problem, proceed as follows:

ÊMake a note of the steps you have taken and the situation in which the fault occurred. Also make a note of the error messages displayed.

ÊSwitch off the defective server blade or the system.

ÊContact customer service.

7.1System power indicator does not light up

The system's power indicator (see figure 15 on page 63) does not light up after you have switched on your system:

Power cable not connected correctly

ÊMake sure that the power cable is correctly connected to the system's power supply units and to the socket strip of the rack (see section "Connecting the system unit to the mains" on page 52).

Power supply overloaded

ÊUnplug the power cables from the insulated sockets of the power supply units.

ÊWait a few seconds and then plug the power cables back into the sockets.
