8.3Management blades

The PRIMERGY BX900 S1 system unit has slots for two redundant, hot-swap management blades with an integrated management solution for complete remote administration of the system. The basic configuration of the BX900 S1 system unit contains one management blade.

The management blades offer user-friendly user interfaces: a Web interface and a console menu interface via Telnet protocol. For a detailed description, see the manual "PRIMERGY BX900 Blade Server Systems ServerView Management Blade S1 User Interface Description".

The slots for the management blades are located on the back of the system unit (see figure 8 on page 51).

A management blade is installed and removed in the same way as a connection blade (see "Installing a connection blade" on page 120).

It is necessary to apply the firmware of the latest version to the Management Blade in a Japanese market.

When two Management blades are installed, it is necessary to match the versions of master/slave's Management blade firmwares.
