Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) is a stan dard developed for connec ting media (music)

devices over USB. It has been adop ted on a number of platforms i ncluding Android.

FUSION currently suppor ts a range of smartphon es utilising MTP.

CONNECTI NG A MTP Device

Connect a FUSION UNI-Dock (MS -UNIDOCK) to gain the beneﬁt s of integrated housing

and charging for your MTP device . Alternatively your devic e USB cable can be used to

connect to the MS-RA2 05.

LISTENING TO A MTP D EvICE

Press ‘Source’ button and cy cle to MTP. Playback will star t automatically. Only avail able

if a MTP device is connected.

INITIAL SONG TITLE LOADING F ROM MTP DEVICES

Following connection to the USB c onnector, the MS-RA20 5 will download the full

list of song names from the devi ce to create a song title index. Thi s process must be

completed before music playb ack can begin. For devices w ith large music collectio ns

this may take several minutes. T he song count will be display ed during this process.

Other sources can be selecte d while this process is under way. The ﬁle name downl oad

and indexing will continue as a backgr ound task.

Note: Your entire music collection may not be a vailable for playbac k. Only audio tracks

stored in MP3 or M4A format a re indexed.

MUSIC FOLDER STRUCTURE

FUSION recommends that folder s contain no more than 300 ﬁle s each. Exceeding this

limitation may cause the phone to be come unresponsive and the F USION Stereo to

reset the USB link to the phone. Music ﬁl es must be located in a folder usin g one of the

following names. The folde r must be located in the root dire ctory of your device.

SD cards may be used on devices th at support them. Songs m ay be copied to both the

phone’s internal memory and the exte rnal memory. The rule s regarding folder naming

apply to both memory type s.

MTP DEvICE NAvIGATION

Press the ‘Menu’ button to enter the MT P menu. Songs stored in MP3 a nd M4A format

(see note below) can be played on th e FUSION Stereo. The FUSIO N Stereo will display

your music collection in grouping s of Songs, Albums and Ar tists allowing you to br owse

in these categories. In addit ion to the above groupings your mus ic collection can be

browsed according to the folder s tructure on your device . The root folder for each

storage memory on your de vice memory will be disp layed in the Settings menu , for

example; PHONE, CARD, etc. Stora ge card locations on phone s are also supported.
