Troubleshooting
Use the following information to solve common problems.

The player does not turn on

■Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a powered electrical outlet.
To test the outlet, plug a working device, such as a lamp, into the outlet
and turn it on.
■If your player is plugged into a surge protector, make sure that the surge
protector is connected securely to an electrical outlet, turned on, and
working correctly.

The player will not play a disc

■Make sure that the disc label is facing up, then try again.
■Clean the disc.

To clean CDs or DVDs:

■Wipe from the center to the edge, not around in a circle, using a
product made especially for the purpose.
■The disc is scratched and cannot be played.
■The parental control is set to prevent playing a DVD with this rating.
