If you are using component video output, make sure that the correct
component video output type has been selected for your television. For
more information, see “Changing the video signal fo rmat” on page 51.
Make sure the correct video format has been selected for your television
and DVD disc. For more information, see “Changing the component video
output signal” on page 52.
The picture looks abnormal or there is no picture
If you are using component video output, make sure that it is selected
correctly. For more information, see “TV Mode” on page5 6.
There is a slight pause in the playback
There is a slight pause that may occur during layer transition when playing
a DVD video recorded in dual-layer format. This is not a malfunction.
There is no sound
Make sure that the audio cable(s) are connected.
If you are using external speakers, make sure they are connected correctly
to your receiver or amplifier.
If you are using external speakers, make sure the receiver or amplifier is
set to receive audio from the DVD player.
If you are using Digital Out, make sure that it is set correctly. For more
information, see “Audio Out” on page 57.
The sound is noisy or distorted
Make sure that the disc is not dirty or scratched.
Make sure all cables are connected securely.
The remote control does not operate
Replace the batteries. For more information, see “Inserting batteries” on
page 15.
Make sure that you are less than 23 feet (7 meters) from the infrared remote
sensor on the DVD player.
Make sure that nothing is blocking the infrared remote sensors on the
remote control or the DVD player.
