8. Network Setup

A static service has an IP address that remains constant for the duration of the contract with the Internet Service Provider (ISP), whereas a dynamic service consists of an IP address that possibly changes every time a new connection is made through the ISP, or recurrently in a given period of time. Most Internet Service Providers offer both solutions and this manual distinguishes between them, according to commonly available service types, when configuring the DVR for networking purposes.

8.1. IP setup

Use the directional buttons [

] to select “NETWORK” menu. Then, press the [ENTER]

 

button to display “Network”.

Use the Down button [ ] to specify the connection details.

Use the [-, +] buttons to change values.

Save changes and exit the menu, press the [ENTER] button.

 

Exit the menu without making changes, press the [CANCEL] button.

y STATIC IP: Edit IP address, Gateway and Network Subnet Mask.

 

 

 

 

y DHCP: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol.

 

 

 

CONFIG

It is set automatically from DHCP if there is a Local DHCP server (i.e. Local

 

 

 

Router). If DHCP is set to ON, the IP address, Gateway and Subnet Mask

 

 

 

are assigned by the DHCP Server (i.e. the Local Area Network Router).
