Thepower cord of this appliance is equipped with a
three-prong(grounding) plug. Use this with a standard
three-slot(grounding) wall power outlet to minimize the
hazardof electric shock. The customer should have
thewall receptacle and circuit checked by a qualified
electricianto make sure the receptacle is properly
grounded.
DONOT CUT OR REMOVE THETHIRD (GROUND)
PRONGFROM THE POWER PLUG.
A.SITUATIONS WHENTHE APPLIANCEWILL BE
DISCONNECTEDOCCASIONALLY:
Becauseof potential safety hazards, we strongly
discouragethe use of an adapter plug. However, if you
wishto use an adapter, a TEMPORARY
CONNECTIONmay be made. Use UL-listed adapter,
availablefrom most local hardware stores.
Thelarge slot in the adapter must be aligned with the
largeslot in the receptacle to assure a proper polarity
connection.

Attachingthe adapter ground terminal to the wall
receptaclecover screw does not ground the
applianceunless the cover screw is metal, and not
insulated,and the wall receptacle is grounded
throughthe house wiring. The customer should
havethe circuit checked by a qualified electrician to
makesure the receptacle is properly grounded.
Disconnectthe power cord from the adapter, using
onehand on each. Otherwise, the adapter ground
terminalmight break. DO NOT USE the appliance with
abroken adapter plug.
B.SITUATIONS WHENTHE APPLIANCEWILL BE
DISCONNECTEDOFTEN.
Donot use an adapter plug in these situations.
Unpluggingthe power cord frequently can lead to an
eventualbreakage of the ground terminal. The wall
poweroutlet should be replaced by a three-slot
(grounding)outlet instead.
USEOF EXTENSION CORDS
Becauseof potential safety hazards, we strongly
discouragethe use of an extension cord. However, if
youwishtouseanextensioncord,useaCSA
certified/UL-listed 3-wire (grounding) extensioncord,
rated at 15A, 125V.
