Installation
Removepacking materials from the wall sleeve and tape
fromthe air conditioner.

INSTALLATIONREQUIREMENTS

Ifyou use an existing wall sleeve, you should
measureits dimensions.
Installthe new air conditioner according to these
installationinstructions to achieve the best
performance.All wall sleeves used to mount the new
airconditioner must be in good structural condition
andhave a rear grille to securely attach thenew air
conditioner.(FIG. 1)
Withthe LGE sleeve(optionally supplied with
yourunit), you can maintain the best performance of
thenew air conditioner. (FIG. 2)

ELECTRICAL SERVICE

Checkyour available electrical service. The power
supplyavailable must be the same as that shown on
theunit nameplate (found on left side of cabinet).
Allmodels are equipped with a 3-prong ser vice plug
toprovide proper service and safe positive
grounding.Do not change plug in any way.Do not
usean adapter plug. If your present wall outlet does
notmatch your plug, call a qualified electrician to
makethe necessary corrections. SAVE CARTON for
storageand this OWNER'S MANUAL for future
reference.The carton is the best way to store unit
duringwinter or when not in use.

Toavoid risk of personal injury, property

this deviceand sharp edges that may be

Air conditioners coveredin this manual pose an

excessiveweight hazard. Two or more people are

needed to moveand install the unit.

Toprevent injury or strain, use proper lifting and

carrying techniques when moving unit.

Carefully inspect location where air conditioner will

be installed.Be sure it will support the weight of

theunitoveranextendedperiodoftime.

Handle air conditioner with care.Wear protective

gloveswhenever lifting or carrying the unit. AVOID

the sharp metal fins of front and rear coils.

Makesure air conditioner does not fall during

installation.
