1INSERT TAPE
Insert a videotape in Deck 1 or Deck 2.
If the tape has a record safety tab, you
will see the menu at left.
If the tape is missing the record safety
tab, please see MOVIE ADVANCE on
page 35.
2OPEN “SEARCH MENU”
While the tape is stopped or playing, press
press SEARCH/INDEX.
3SELECT “INDEX SEARCH/SCAN”
Press 1.
4SEARCH/SCAN FOR INDEX MARKS
Choose one of the following:
Scan
Press FAST-FORWARD or REWIND to
begin scanning for Index Marks forwards or
backwards.
• When Index Scan locates an Index Mark, it
will play the tape for 5 seconds. If it is the
scene you want to watch, press PLAY . If
it is not, the VCR will automatically
search for the next Index Mark.
NOTE
Auto Show Finder - Use Index Scan with the Date/Time Stamp to quickly find Timer Recordings on your
tapes. For example, when Index Scan stops at an Index Mark and plays a few seconds of tape, you will
see the date and time the show was recorded.
Follow these steps to locate recordings by
scanning or searching for Index Marks.
Search
Enter a number from 1 to
99; e.g. for “5” press “0-
5.” Then press FAST-
FORWARD or REWIND
to begin searching
forward or backward for
the specified Index Mark.
• When the VCR locates
the Index Mark, it will
play the tape.
