Not all DVDs are rated.

DVDs that are rated higher than the level you select will not play without entering the correct password.

If you forget your password, use 9999 to clear the memory. Keep this password out of reach of children as it will always unlock the Parental Control setting.

::Speaker Setup

Adjusting Speaker Balance/Levels

If your speakers are positioned at varying distances from your primary listening area, you can compensate by adjusting the relative volume levels for each speaker. The DHT7000 provides three ways to adjust levels:

Test Tone Generator Allows you to adjust levels by using a “white noise” reference signal that cycles through each speaker in a continuous loop.

Trim Level Allows you to fine-tune levels while a DVD disc is playing.

Volume Level Allows you to adjust the volume of all six speakers simultaneously.

Test Tone Generator

1To use the Test Tone generator, a DVD disc must be loaded and the player must be in Stop mode.

See page 21 for information on loading discs.

2Press TEST TONE on the remote control. A “white noise” test tone is automatically sent to each of the six speak- ers in a continuous loop.

The test tone is broadcast for approximately 5 seconds in the following order: Left, Center, Right, Right Surround, Left Surround, Subwoofer.

3Press the VOLUME +/- buttons on the remote control to adjust the volume level for each speaker.

The selected channel is indicated on both the front panel display and your TV screen.

You can adjust the level from -6dB to +6dB in 1dB steps (the default is 0dB).

4When finished, press the TEST TONE button to stop the test tone and save your settings.

The Test-Tone generator is not available when a DVD disc menu is on screen.

You can also use the VOLUME/CONTROL dial on the front panel to adjust volume levels.

If you do not hear the test tone from a particular speaker, or from an incorrect speaker, the speaker may be incorrectly wired; see page 8.
