3. Record your four-digit personal code below.
Note: Be sure to store these instructions in a
secure location.
Personal Code:
3. Orient one of the keys with the stamped serial
number facing up, then insert it into the key-
hole.
4. Turn the key 14 turn clockwise to unlock the
safe door, use the hand indent to pull the
door open, then remove the contents of the
safe.
5. Remove the battery cover on the back of the
safe door, then install the four "AA" batteries
provided to activate the digital keypad.
6. Close the safe door, rotate the key 14 turn
counterclockwise, remove it from the door,
then re-attach the nameplate.
Personal Code
Both your personal code and emergency code
can open the safe door, but only your personal
code can lock it.
To lock the safe door using your personal
code:
1. Close the safe door.
2. Use the digital keypad to enter a four-digit
personal code of your choice, then press the
"#" key to activate the locking mechanism
(see Figure 2). The LED window will display
the word "CLOSEd ", then your personal
code will be displayed for a few seconds.
Note: Your personal code is re-set each time
you enter it. You can use the same code
repeatedly or enter a new one each time you
lock the safe.
To open the safe door using your personal
code:
1. Use the digital keypad to enter the four-digit
personal code that you used to lock the door.
When the last digit is entered, the locking
mechanism will release and the LED window
will display the word "OPENEd ".
2. Use the hand indent at the bottom of the key-
pad to open the door.
Emergency Code
The emergency code can only be used to open
the door. Use this code in the event that you have
forgotten or misplaced your personal code, or the
safe keys are not readily available.
To use the emergency code to open the safe
door:
1. Use the digital keypad to enter the six-
digit emergency code. When the last digit is
entered, the locking mechanism will release
the door and the LED window will display the
word "OPENEd ".
Note: The default factory-programmed emer-
gency code is "011223". You can keep this
code as it is or change it as instructed in the
next section.
