Remoción de la Escarcha del Refrigerador

NOTA: Si su refrigerador no tiene sección de congelador, no es necesario remover la escarcha.

Para el uso más eficiente de la energía eléctrica, remueva la escarcha de la sección de congelación cuando ésta se acumule en las paredes del congelador hasta por lo menos un espesor de 1/4" (0,6 cm). Note que la escarcha tiende a acumularse más rápidamente durante los meses de verano.

Para remover la escarcha del congelador, saque los alimentos y

la bandeja de cubos de hielo de la sección del congelador. Verifique que la bandeja de goteo está debajo de la sección del congelador y gire el dial de control de temperatura a la posición OFF - apagado. La licuefacción de la escarcha puede tomar algunas horas. Para acelerar el proceso mantenga la puerta abierta y coloque una vasija con agua tibia dentro del refrigerador.

Cuando se está licuando la escarcha el agua se acumulará en la bandeja de goteo. Puede ser necesario vaciar la bandeja de goteo durante el proceso de licuefacción de la escarcha. Mientras el proceso se realiza, obsérvelo periódicamente

para ver que se está desarrollando normalmente. (Vea la Fig. #7)

Una vez terminado el proceso vacíe y seque la bandeja de goteo, así como también el interior del refrigerador. Ahora podrá volver a fijar la temperatura del refrigerador para colocar de nuevo

en él los alimentos.
