ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Cleanthe
cutterdeckhousing.
Washtheundersideofthecutterdeckaftereachuseto
preventgrassbuildupforimprovedmulchactionand
clippingdispersal.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengage
thebladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleversoutwardtothe
parkposition,stoptheengine,removethekey,and
waitforallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Attachthehosecouplingtotheendofthecutter
deckwashouttting,andturnthewateronhigh
(Figure58).
Note:Spreadpetroleumjellyonthewashouttting
O-ringtomakethecouplingslideoneasierand
protecttheO-ring.

5.Sitontheseatandstarttheengine.Engagetheblade
controlswitchandletthecutterdeckrunforoneto
threeminutes.
6.Disengagethebladecontrolswitch,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.Waitforallmoving
partstostop.
7.Turnthewateroffandremovethecouplingfrom
thewashouttting.
Note:Ifthecutterdeckisnotcleanafterone
washing,soakitandletitstandfor30minutes.Then
repeattheprocess.
8.Runthecutterdeckagainforonetothreeminutes
toremoveexcesswater.
Abrokenormissingwashoutttingcould
exposeyouandotherstothrownobjectsor
bladecontact.Contactwithbladeorthrown
debriscancauseinjuryordeath.
Replacebrokenormissingwashouttting
immediately,beforeusingcutterdeckagain.
Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthecutter
deckorthroughopeningsinthecutterdeck.
