E. Chimney Requirements

When planning your fireplace location, the chimney construc- tion and necessary clearances must be considered. The fire- place system and chimney components have been tested to provide flexibility in construction. The following figures are the minimum distances from the base of the fireplace.

• Minimum overall straight height is 10 ft If the fireplace is freestanding and a minimum of 10 ft from a combustible structure. See Figure 3.2.

•Chimney must extend 2 ft (.6 m) above any portion of the roof within 10 ft (3048 mm) of the chimney. Refer to Figure 6.2.
