Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

5.Remove the following components:
a.SIM (see “SIM” on page
b.Hard drive cover (see “Hard drive” on page
c.Keyboard (see “Keyboard” on page
d.Hinge cover (see “Hinge cover” on page
Remove the top cover:
1.Turn the computer upside down, with the front toward you.
2.Remove the following:
1One small Mylar screw cover. All Mylar screw covers detailed in this section are included in the Rubber Kit, spare part number
2Three Torx T8M2.0×8.0 screws.
3Two large Mylar screw covers. The screw covers detailed in this section are included in the Rubber Kit, spare part number
4Two Torx T8M2.0×4.0 screws.
