- O -
Operator Display Screen This screen is where you will see the results of the action you have
performed with the scale. For example, if you have placed a
product on the scale, the weight will be shown.

Random Weight Item An item that needs to be weighed before it can be priced.
Retained Tare A Tare value entered into the World Scale’s memory that is saved.
- S -
Short PRESS In World Scale, you have two different keystrokes for PRESS.
Short PRESS means to press a key and release it quickly. You will
hear one beep. See also Long PRESS here in the Glossary.
Sleep Mode An energy-saving function of the World Scale which can be used
when the scale is to be idle for an extended period of time.
Speedkey A key which is set up so that one press results in several actions.
Status Display Screen This screen is where you check to be sure the machine is working
properly. It appears when you press the Display Test key.
Supervisor Mode A separate portion of the World Scale’s program that allows
manipulation of its operation. For example, when in Supervisor
mode, you can change the Beeper Volume or the duration of a Long
PRESS.

Tare The weight of the packing material for which the customer does not
pay.
- U -
Unit Price The price per unit of measure.
