SOLUTION

Engine will not start:

1.No spark.

2.No fuel.

3.Flooded engine.

4.Starter rope pulls harder now than when new.

1.Check spark. Remove spark plug. Reattach the spark plug cap and lay spark plug on metal cylinder. Pull the starter rope and watch for spark at spark plug tip. If there is no spark, repeat test with a new spark plug.

2.Push primer bulb until bulb until fuel is visible in the bulb. If fuel is not apparent, the primary fuel delivery system is blocked. Contact a servicing dealer. If primer bulb fills, engine may be flooded (see next item).

3.Remove spark plug, turn blower so spark plug hole is aimed at the ground. Move choke lever to “RUN” and pull starter cord 10 to 15 times. This will clear excess fuel from engine. Clean and reinstall spark plug. Pull starter three times with choke lever at “RUN”. If engine does not start, move choke lever to “CHOKE” and repeat normal starting procedure. If engine still fails to start, repeat procedure with a new spark plug.

4.Contact a servicing dealer.

Engine does not reach full speed and emits excessive smoke:

1.Oil / fuel mixture is incorrect.

2.Air filter is dirty.

3.Carburetor requires adjustment.

4.Spark arrestor screen is dirty.

1.Use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle oil mix.

2.Clean air filter, refer to “Replacing and Cleaning the Air Filter” earlier in this manual.

NOTE: The carburetor adjustment needle(s) are equipped with plastic cap(s) that prevents counterclockwise rotation from the original factory adjustment. If your unit exhibits specific performance problem(s) where the Trouble Shooting Section recommends a counterclockwise needle adjustment and no adjustments have been made since original pur- chase, the unit should be taken to a factory authorized service dealer for repair. In most cases, the needed adjust- ment is a simple task for the factory trained service repre- sentative.

These models are particularly well-suited for those looking to tackle yard maintenance tasks efficiently and with minimal effort. Built with innovative technologies, these trimmers offer ease of use, reliability, and performance that can handle a wide range of gardening chores.

One of the standout features of both the UT08540 and UT08541 is their lightweight design, making them easy to maneuver for extended periods without causing fatigue. Weighing in at just under 10 pounds, these trimmers are equipped with ergonomic handles and padded grips that provide comfort and stability during operation. The adjustable shaft length allows for optimal positioning, ensuring that users can reach even hard-to-access areas.

Powering these models is a robust 26cc 2-cycle engine, which is designed to deliver high torque and efficiency. This engine provides the necessary power to tackle thicker weeds and tougher vegetation without bogging down, making it ideal for both light trimming and heavy-duty tasks. Additionally, both models incorporate advanced technology that minimizes vibration and noise, enhancing the overall user experience.

The Homelite UT08540 and UT08541 also feature an easy start system, which allows users to get to work quickly without the hassle of traditional pull-start engines. This system includes a fuel primer bulb and an automatic choke that work together to ensure quick ignition and reliable performance in various weather conditions.
