W Replacement
1. Remove the spark plug cap from the spark plug, set the park brake, and,
lower the cutter deck all the way down.
2. Set the P.T.O. lever in the OFF (disengaged) position and remove the
rear belt stopper.
3. Remove the belt from the drive pulley on the underside of the
transmission.
4. Move the P.T.O. lever to the ON (engaged) position and remove the
lock pin, collar, ancf washer from the P.T.O. clutch rod.
5. Remove the bolts and nuts from both pulley covers, and then remove
the covers.
6.’ Remove the three belt stopper bolts and remove the belt.
7. Installation is the reverse order of removal with these exceptions:
NOTE:
l The belt stoppers are installed onto the pulley covers. When install-
ing the left and right pulley covers, pull the belt so that the belt is
positioned inside the stoppers.
l Check for proper belt alignment on the pulleys.
l Check the belt adjustment. See page 55.
0 Make sure the rear belt stopper is not contacting the drive pulley.
