HP digital photography enhancements

In parallel with HP Photoret Pro and 8-ink printing, we have also introduced a range of digital imaging technologies which intelligently analyse and enhance images to improve the quality of digital photos.

These include contrast enhancement, digital flash, smartfocus, sharpness and smoothing, and are designed to deliver brighter, more vibrant colours and sharper, clearer image detail for results that rival the quality of traditional photo finishing.

Each ‘tool‘ is automatically applied when printing in best modes and can be selected to adjust images to suit individual needs or preferences.

Contrast enhancement

Brightens images that appear dark or hazy due to poor lighting conditions, adding depth and clarity to the entire image. If the original image is fine, no changes are made, so customers get great results whatever the quality of the original.

Digital flash

Enhances image detail in dark, shadow areas or areas that appear too light or over exposed. This tool can improve images in which a particular area is obscured by shadows or bleached out by bright sunshine.

Smartfocus

Sharpens details in low-resolution images printed from the Internet, CD-ROM or multimedia applications, ensuring optimal quality for everything from family photos to web content.

Sharpness

Enhances image detail to increase the quality of digital photos; detail areas appear sharper and crisper for realistic, photo-quality output.

Smoothing

Intelligently removes ‘noise’, unwanted artefacts caused by image compression, and the appearance of grain in images, resulting in a smoother, more uniform appearance for realistic photo quality.
