Sharing media and data between devices

Your computer is configured with Near Field Communication (NFC) which makes it simple to connect devices, exchange digital information, and perform transactions with a touch. By simply tapping an NFC-enabled Android 4.0 smart phone to your computer, you can wirelessly share informaton between your computer and your phone. Your computer is configured with NFC hardware and software from Microsoft Windows 8 and sMedio 360.

sMedio 360

sMedio 360 empowers users to wirelessly stream media and transfer data (sync 2-way or migrate 1- way) between devices on the same home group network. You can also stream and transfer media to and from an NFC-enabled computer and an NFC-enabled Android 4.0 smart phone.

sMedio 360 works in both Windows 8 and Windows 7, as well as other devices on the same home group network. It includes the following three main apps:

sMedio 360 Suite enables you to wirelessly stream and share media between enabled computers and mobile devices. These features are located on the Start screen.

sMedio 360 TrueSync enables you to migrate (1-way communication) or synchronize (2-way communication) data between two computers on a WiFi (or wired) home group network. These features are located on the Windows desktop and are also compatible with computers running Windows 7 operating systems.

sMedio 360 TrueLink+ is an Android mobile app that enables you to transfer (copy) or stream (play) photos, videos, and music from your NFC-enabled phone to your computer or vice versa.

For more information on using this software, click the Tutorials tile in the sMedio 360 Suite screen. To explore all of the available features, go to the Windows desktop and click on the Smedio 360 TrueSync icon in the taskbar. Click Learn More on the Sign-in/Create Account screen.

Using sMedio 360 Suite

To stream and share media from one device to another, your computers and mobile devices must be on the same home group network with media sharing enabled.

NOTE: For information on setting up a home group network, click the Tutorial tile on the sMedio screen.

To enable media sharing:

1.From the Start screen, point to the far-upper right or lower corner of the display to show the charms.

2.Select Settings, and then click the network status icon.

3.Right-click the network you are connected to, and then select Turn sharing on or off.

Accessing sMedio 360 Suite

From the Start screen, select the sMedio 360 Suite app.
