2.Configure HP Insight Control for RHEV by running the setup script hpicrhev_setup.py. The setup script is placed in /usr/local/bin and in the path /usr/lib/hpicrhev-x.x.x.x, so it can be run from any directory. For RHEV 3.2 configurations, you will need the postgres database password and the RHEV-M credentials you entered when you ran the rhevm-setupscript. With RHEV 3.3 configurations, the password will not be available until you change the default postgres password.

[root@rhevm ~]# hpicrhev_setup.py

Starting HP Insight Control for RHEV services

NOTE: RHEV-M will prompt the user for a Postgres password if Postgres is configured with md5.

NOTE: hpicrhev_setup.py will ensure the /opt/hp subdirectory has the appropriate permissions (read/write/execute for owner and read/execute for group and other, i.e. rwxr-xr-x). If the subdirectory does not have the correct permissions, the setup script will ask if you want to change them:

The /opt/hp directory already exists but does not have appropriate permissions.

HP Insight Control for RHEV requires read/write permissions to this directory in order to function properly.

Allow HP Insight Control for RHEV to change permissions of this directory? [yes/no]:

Answering yes will continue the setup procedure. Answering no will abort the setup.

NOTE: Entering an incorrect Postgres password will result in the following error message:

Please confirm your database password and ensure that

"md5" authentication method is selected.

NOTE: If you do not have the RHEV Reports package installed, the Importing reports step will fail. This is a non-fatal error.

Before HP Insight Control for RHEV can display information about hosts (iLOs/servers, blade enclosures and Virtual Connect) in your environment, they must first be discovered.

NOTE: Host credentials are required in order for discovery to succeed.
