Instrumentation

Microsoft created WMI as its implementation of Web-based Enterprise Management

(WMI)

(WBEM). For more information about WMI, refer to the Microsoft Web site at

http://www.microsoft.com.

The Windows CIM Extension enhances Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)

so that it can gather information from host bus adapters and make the information

available to the management server.
