Removing the Fan and Heatsink

Required Equipment
•#0 Phillips screwdriver.
Removal Procedure
1.Unplug the AC adapter, if present, and remove the battery.
2.Remove these additional assemblies:

•Keyboard (page
3.Remove the retaining screw from the right speaker. Disconnect the speaker wires from the motherboard, and lift the speaker out of the notebook.
4.Disconnect the fan wires from the motherboard.
5.Remove both retaining screws from the fan.
6.Lift the fan out of the notebook.
Caution
Do not spin the fan blades with your finger, or you could damage the fan’s bearings.
7.Remove the heatsink’s four retaining screws (with springs attached).
8.Lift the heatsink out of the notebook.
