Your Humminbird®Portable fishfinder is designed to provideyears of trouble-free operation with virtually no maintenance. Followthe simple procedures below to ensure that your Humminbird®Portablecontinues to delivertop performance.

If the Portablecasecomesinto contact withsaltspray, wipethe affectedsurfaces with a lint-freecloth,thenapply a commercially availableanti-corrosivetreatment to all exposed electrical contacts.

If the portable case bag becomes dirty,clean the bag with mild soap, water,and a soft rag or brush and then hang it up to dry.

Do not use a chemical glass cleaner on the lens - this may cause cracking in the lens.

When cleaning the LCD protective lens, use a chamois and non-abrasive,mild cleaner. Do not wipe while dirt or grease is on the lens. Be careful to avoid scratching the lens.

If your boat remains in the water for long periods of time, marine growth can reduce the effectiveness of the transducer. Periodically clean the face of the transducer with liquid detergent.

If your boat remains out of the water for a long period of time, it may take some time to wet the transducer when returned to the water. Small air bubbles can cling to the surface of the transducer and interferewith proper operation.These bubblesdissipatewith time,or you can wipe the faceof the transducerwith your fingers after the transducer is in the water.

Neverleave yourHumminbird®Portable unit in a closedcaror trunk - theextremely high temperaturesgenerated in hot weather can damagethe electronics.Repairs should be performedonly by authorizedHumminbird®technicians.

How to Remove Water from the Portable Case

Open the front zipper and pull the case down to allow water to exit the case. If needed,removethecasefromtheplasticbase and air-dryit. Follow recommended maintenance proceduresfor salt sprayexposure if needed.
