4 • Assembling and Hanging the Fan

4-1. Insert the downrod through the canopy, canopy trim ring, spindle			Steps 4-1 – 4-2
cover, and spindle. Feed the wires from the fan through the downrod.					Downrod
4-2. Loosen the allen head set screw on the adapter using the large
allen wrench. Screw the pipe and ball into the fan assembly.
Note: When the pipe and ball assembly is fully installed, 2-3						Canopy
threads on the pipe will still be visible; this is normal.
	CAUTION: e adapter has a special coating on the threads. Do		Spindle			Canopy
	not remove this coating; the coating prevents the downrod from		Cover	Trim Ring

	unscrewing. Once assembled, do not remove the downrod.
				Allen Head
4-3. Find the allen head set screw in the adapter on the fan by raising
				Set Screw
and angling the spindle. Tighten the allen head set screw using
the large allen wrench provided.
4-4. Lower the spindle cover. Find the allen head set screw on the					Step 4-3
spindle cover. Tighten the allen head set screw using the small
allen wrench provided.
4-5. Cut the lead wires from the fan a maximum length of 3-1/2 inches
from the top of the downrod. Using wire strippers on the 18AWG
setting, strip 5/16 inch from each lead wire coming from the fan.
4-6. Raise the fan and place the hook on the ceiling plate through the
U-shaped hole in the rim of the canopy.
