Performing a Card Reader Test

Use this function to enable the card reader test and to display track 1 and track 2 data.

NOTE: You can also access this function by Merchant Functions, 8, 9, and pressing or touching Enter.

Step-by-Step

To perform a card reader test:

NOTE: The Idle prompt may vary depending on the
terminal and its configuration.
If the option you want is not on this screen,
touch + on the terminal display for additional
menu options.

4 Slide the card through the card reader. The terminal displays
track 1 andtrack 2 information, the card number, and the
expiration date.
The card number is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
The expiration date is xxxx.
NOTE: If the terminal displays Card Error, swipe the card again.
If the error message is repeated, clean the card reader
track using a card reader cleaning card. If the error
message persists, the customer card or terminal card
reader may be damaged.
5 Touch Clear on the terminal display. The terminal displays the
Idle prompt.
