Synchronize with NTP

To configure primary, secondary, and tertiary NTP servers to synchronize the Server Switch with the network, perform the following steps:

1.Enter the enable command to enter Privileged Exec mode.

Example

IBM BladeCenter> enable

IBM BladeCenter#

2.Enter the configure terminal command to enter Global Configuration mode.

Example

IBM BladeCenter# configure terminal

IBM BladeCenter(config)#

3.Enter the ntp command with

the server-onekeyword

the IP address of the NTP server

to assign a primary NTP server.

Example

IBM BladeCenter(config)# ntp server-one 10.2.0.13

4.(Optional, Recommended) Enter the ntp command with

the server-twokeyword

the IP address of the NTP server

to assign a secondary NTP server.

Example

IBM BladeCenter(config)# ntp server-two 10.2.0.14

5.(Optional, Recommended) Enter the ntp command with

the server-three keyword

the IP address of the NTP server

to assign a tertiary NTP server.

Example

IBM BladeCenter(config)# ntp server-three 10.2.0.15

Connect Beyond BladeCenter

To extend your InfiniBand fabric beyond your BladeCenter cluster, you must configure the priority of the subnet manager (SM) on your Server Switch Module(s), then connect one or more of the external interfaces on your Server Switch Module(s) to an outside InfiniBand fabric.
