FRU Replacement Strategy

Before Replacing Parts

Ensure that all diskette fixes are installed p replacing any FRUs listed in this manual.

Use the following strategy to prevent unnecessar replacement and service expense:

Ÿ

If

you

are instructed

to replace a FRU

and

that

does

not

correct the

problem, reinstall

the

original

FRU

before

you continue

.

ŸSome computers have both a processor board system board. If you are instructed to re the processor board or the system board, board that you replaced does not correct reinstall the original board, then replace th

(processor or system) board.

ŸIf an adapter or device consists of more FRU, an error code may be caused by any FRUs. Before replacing the adapter or devi the FRUs, one by one, to see if the symp change. Replace only the FRU that changed symptoms.
