VIII Windows Hardware/Software Preparation
1.Review Checklist in Component Installation Guide: SAP ERP 2005 SR1 ABAP+Java on Windows:IBM DB2 UDB for z/OS for base Software Requirements.
2.Certified Hardware is required for application servers. Current certified IBM
models are:
IBM eServer xSeries IBM BladeCenter Servers
3.3 GB RAM minimum (use sizing configuration recommendation)
4.Disk space requirements are in the manual SAP ERP 2005 SR1 ABAP+Java on Windows: IBM DB2 UDB for z/OS manual.
5.Virtual Memory = 1X RAM + 8GB (see OSS Note 153641)
6.CD Drive
7.LAN connection to z/OS
8.English International Version of one of:
-Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
-Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
-Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition
9.DB2 Connect
10.Windows Resource Kit is highly recommended.
11.If installing in a mixed environment (i.e. with AIX application servers) you will need software such as SAMBA in order to share filesystems using SMB protocol.
