Chapter 9. Operational Considerations

This section summarizes the changes to operating procedures for RACF OS/390 Release 2.

Enhancements to the

RESTART

Command

The

RESTART

command has been enhanced. The new SYSNAME keyword

allows an

operator to restart connections to systems on a multisystem

OS/390 Security Server (RACF) Command Language Referencefor more

information.

Enabling and Disabling

RACF

 

The

Security

Server (RACF) for OS/390 Release 2 supports the OS/390 en

and

disable

functions. Entries in xxtheparmlibIFAPRD member specify which

features are enabled and disabled.

If RACF is not enabled on your system when you IPL, RACF initializati complete, message IFA104I is issued, and RACF does not provide secur system. If you plan to use RACF, make sure that an entryxx toexists in enable RACF before you IPL. To see what the entry should look like, “Enabling RACF” on page 27.
