1. Insertthe micro USB cable into your tablet'smicro USB port.

2. Insertthe other end into the AC power adapter, then connectit to a power outlet. The

chargingindicatorlights red during charging, then lightsorange when finished.

Note:Ittakes about four hours to fullycharge your tablet.

Conserve battery power

lTurnoff Wi-Fi when you aren't using it.

lLowerthe screen brightness.S ee Adjust the screen brightness (on page25).

lCloseapps that you aren't using. See Use the Recents screen (on page12).

lIfyour tablet is inactive,your tablet sleepsw iththe screen off (depending on thescreen

timeoutsetting. See Customize the lock screen (on page23)). Press towake it up.

lForthe best battery performance, use yourtablet often.

lMakesure that you chargeit at least once a month.

lUsethe power adapter that came with your tabletfor

charging.

lYoucan use your tablet while itis being charged.

However,to conserve your tablet's battery life,it isn't

recommended.

TURN ON YOUR TABLET FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. Pressand hold the buttonon the side of your tablet untilyou see the Welcome screen.

2. Followthe instructionson the screen to complete setup.

Note:Youcan use your tabletw ithoutconnecting to the Internetand signing into a

Google™account, but youwon't be able to use the Play Store or receive software

updates.
