4Press or to select the channel you want to label, then press . A small keyboard opens with the channel label in the text entry area.

5Press or to highlight a letter, number, or character, then press ENTER to put your selection in the text entry area. Repeat this step to add additional letters. You can add as many as seven letters.

6Press or to highlight Enter on the keyboard, then press ENTER, The new label will appear in the Channel Label submenu and in the Channel List.

7Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu.

Checking the digital signal strength

You can check the digital signal strength to determine if you need to adjust your antenna or digital cable input. The higher the signal strength, the less likely you are to experience picture degradation.

To check the digital signal strength:

1Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens with the PICTURE menu displayed.

2Press or to select CHANNELS. The CHANNELS menu opens.

3Press to highlight Channel Strength, then

press or ENTER to open the digital TV signal strength meter.

4Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu.

Setting TV parental controls

Unless otherwise noted, all tasks in this section are based on using the remote control.

Your TV/Blu-ray combo has a V-chip that lets you control the type of programs your children can watch. Parental controls include two ratings: MPAA (based on age) and TV Parental Guidelines (based on content and age). A TV program may have an MPAA or TV Parental Guidelines rating, so you should set control for both ratings.

Before you can select ratings, you need to set up a parental controls password.
