Energy Flow

The only energy sou rce put into

your military vehicle enters in the

form of diesel fuel

1) Some of this e nergy is
converted by the engine to
mechanical energy for motion
2) Some of this mechanical
energy is converted by the
alternator to electrical energ y
3) A fraction o f this electr ical
energy is stored in the batteries for
future use (s uch as star ting)
4) Some of this energy
can be converted by the
QuietPower from 24
VDC to 115 VAC
(with ~ 90% efficiency)

Energy Storage

1) When the vehicle is running, the
alternator provides most of the
current demanded by the
connected electrical systems
2) The excess curren t flows into the
storage batteri es to:
•a) deliver electrical power wh en the
vehicle is not running
•b) supply surge curre nts exceeding the
nominal output of the alternator
