DIGITAL
AUDIO
OUTPUT
Select the output signal type suitable to
the device connected to the [LINE-DIGI-
TAL OUT] terminal. Refer to “List of rela-
tionships of DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT
preference items and output signal” on
page 40.
PCM ONLY :
Device corresponding only to linear PCM.
DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM :
Dolby Digital decoder or device having
the same function.
:
DTS/Dolby Digital decoder or device hav-
ing the same function.
DOWN MIX Select the signal suitable to the device
connected to the [LINE-DIGITAL OUT]
terminal. Set “DOWN MIX” only when
“DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT” is set to
“PCM ONLY”.
DOLBY SURROUND :
Dolby Pro Logic decoder-built-in device.
:
Ordinary audio device.
D (Dynamic).
RANGE
COMPRESSION
To correct the difference between high
volume and low volume when playing
back with low volume (only for a DVD
recorded with Dolby Digital).
WIDE RANGE :
For enjoying the original full dynamic
range of surround sound without effects.
:
For normal usage. Surround sound is
compressed to a certain level.
HDMI
AUDIO OUT
You can select whether or not the audio
signal from the [HDMI] terminal is output.
ON :
The audio signal from the [HDMI] is out-
put.
:
The audio signal from the [HDMI] is not
output.
NOTE
Depending on the connected TV, when
“HDMI AUDIO OUT” is set to “ON”,
only PCM signals can be output via an
HDMI cable.

input terminal on the TV.

When connecting to the video 1 input ter-
minal on the TV.
DVD3 :
When connecting to the video 2 input ter-
minal on the TV.

REGISTRA-
TION
The main unit has its own registration
code. You can confirm the registration
code, when necessary. Once you have
played back a disc/file on which the regis-
tration code is recorded, the registration
code of the main unit is overwritten for
copyright protection.
NETWORK
SETUP
Refer to the separate volume of the oper-
ation manual for the network function.
