Functional Overview
Front Panel
1 STANDBY/ON /I button
• Press to turn on or off the unit.
* “ ” shows electrical power standby and “I”
shows ON.
2 Cassette compartment (VCR)
• Insert a tape here.
3 Disc tray OPEN/CLOSE O button* (DVD)
• Press to open or close the disc tray.
4 VCR/DVD button (DVD/VCR)
• Press to select the component you wish to
operate.
5 Disc tray (DVD)
• Place a disc here when open.
6 AUDIO input jacks (AV3) (DVD/VCR)
• Use to connect external equipment with
standard Audio cables.
7 VIDEO input jack (AV3) (DVD/VCR)
• Use to connect external equipment with a
standard Video cable.
8 S-VIDEO input jack (AV3) (DVD/VCR)
• Use to connect the S-Video output of external
equipment with an S-Video cable.
9 DVD REC I button (DVD)
• Press once to start a recording.
• Press repeatedly to start a one-touch timer
recording.
10 DVD PLAY P button* (DVD)
• Press to start or resume a playback.
11 DVD STOP S button* (DVD)
• Press to stop a playback or recording.
• Press to stop a timer recording of DVD.
12 DVD light (DVD)
• Lights up when the DVD output mode is
selected.
13 VCR light (VCR)
• Lights up when the VCR output mode is
selected.
14 DUBBING button (DVD/VCR)
• Press to start VCR to DVD (DVD to VCR)
duplication which you set in the setting menu.
15 PR(OGRAMME) +/

• Press up or down to change the channel.
16 Display (DVD/VCR)
• Refer to “Front Panel Display Guide” on
page 16.
17 Remote control sensor
• Receives signals from your remote control so
you can control the unit from a distance.
18 VCR REC I button (VCR)
• Press once to start a recording.
• Press repeatedly to start a one-touch timer
recording.
19 VCR PLAY P button* (VCR)
• Press to start a playback of a video tape.
20 VCR STOP/EJECT S/O button (VCR)
• Press to remove the tape from the unit.
• Press to stop the tape motion.
• Press to stop the proceeding timer recording in
VCR.
21 VCR F.FWD f button* (VCR)
• Press to rapidly advance the video tape.
• Press to view the picture rapidly in forward
during playback. (Forward Search)
• Press to turn the unit on when the video tape is
inserted and start rapidly advancing the tape.
22 VCR REW r button* (VCR)
• Press to rewind the video tape.
• Press to view the picture rapidly in reverse
during the playback mode. (Rewind Search)
• Press to turn the unit on when the video tape is
inserted and start rewinding the tape.
