Three-Step Quick Start

For Step , be sure to perform either of the methods: Auto Setup or Preset Download.

Auto Setup

before you start

START AUTO SETUP

Press the obutton. If ÔAutoÕ appears on the display panel, press OK (or E).

Check that the VCR is turned off and no cassette is inserted

Load the batteries into the Remote Control

Refer to the Remote Control diagram on pages 6Ð7

what will happen? The display panel on the front of the VCR will show the word ÔAutoÕ. Do not press any button on the VCR or the Remote Control.

note If you have connected both the RF cable and the fully-wired 21-pin SCART cable, and if your TV offers T-VÊLink, etc., and the TV is turned on, the VCR automatically performs the Preset Download (☞ pg. 12) even if you select ÔAutoÕ for Auto Setup function.

The VCR is automatically setting up the tuner channels and the video channel. This only happens the first time that the VCR is turned on.
