Drain Valve Washer
Replacement
NOTE_ For replacement, use a '_" x "/_" x ½" d,i.'ckwasher available at your
Turn _OFF" gassupply to waterheater. Follow Draining insu'uctions.
Turning counter clockwise, remove the hex cap below the screw handle.
•Removethe washer and put the new one in place.
Screw the handle and cap assembly back into the drainvalve and retightenusing a wrench. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Follow instructions in the "Filling The Water Heater" section.
•Check for leaks.
Follow the lighting instructions in the *Lighting" section to restartthe water heater.

Vacuumaround base of water heater for dust, dirt, and lint on a regularbasis.
AWARNING
INSTALLED IN SUITABLE AREA: To insure suffi-
cient ventilation and combustion air supply, proper clearances from the water heater must be main-
tained. See "Facts to Consider About the Location"
section. Combustible materials such as clothing, cleaning materials, or flammable liquids, etc. must
not be placed against or adjacent to the water heater which can cause a fire.
