Chapter 6: Specifying and Using Disc or Track Data

6-2 Listening to music by genre (MUSIC TYPE mode)

Discs can be registered separately by 26 types of music genres.

Adult Contemporary, Alternative Rock, Children’s Music, Classical, Contemporary Christian, Country, Dance, Easy Listening, Folk, Gospel, Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin, Musical, New Age, Opera, Operetta, Pop Music, Rap, Reggae, Rock Music, Rhythm & Blues, Sound Effects, Sound Track, Spoken Word, World Music

6-2-1Registration of music type

(MUSIC TYPE SET mode)

Operation procedure

1.Check that the unit is in the normal play TRACK

mode.¤

÷Make sure that the disc door is closed.

2.Press the MODE button.

÷When the MODE button is pressed during MUSIC TYPE SET mode, the MUSIC TYPE SET mode is cancelled.

3.Press the DISC + (up), (down) button to select “MUSIC TYPE”, then press the SET button.

4.Press the DISC + (up), (down) button to select “M.TYPE SET”, then press the SET button.

5.Press the DISC + (up)/(down) button to select the music type, and press the SET button.

6.Press the DISC + (up)/(down) button to select the disc to be registered in the music type selected in step 5, and press the SET button.

÷It is not possible to register a single disc number in more than one "music type genre".

If you attempt to register an already registered disc number in a "music type genre", the previous registration of the disc number will be deleted from the previous "music type genre".

÷The disc number can also be selected using the

numeric buttons.

÷The discs in the PLUS1 to PLUS3 slots cannot be selected.

÷Repeat step 6. if it is required to register another disc in the music type selected above.

7.Press the MODE button to complete this operation.

÷To register another music type, exit the MUSIC TYPE SET mode once and restart from the beginning.

6-2-2Playing the music type

(MUSIC TYPE PLAY mode)

Operation procedure

1.Check that the unit is in the normal play TRACK

mode.¤

÷Make sure that the disc door is closed.

2.Press the MODE button.

÷When the MODE button is pressed during MUSIC TYPE PLAY mode, the MUSIC TYPE PLAY mode is cancelled.

3.Press the DISC + (up), (down) button to select “MUSIC TYPE”, then press the SET button.

4.Press the DISC + (up), (down) button to select “M.TYPE PLAY”, then press the SET button.

÷The registered music types are displayed.

5.Press the DISC + (up)/(down) button to select one of the registered “music type” and press the SET button.

÷If the RANDOM button is pressed in this step, random playback will start.

(Note that random playback is not available with DVD-VIDEO discs.)

÷If repeat playback is required, press the REPEAT button.

÷To view the discs registered in a “music type”, press the CHECK button. Each press of the CHECK button will display the next disc registered in the “music type”.

To exit from MUSIC TYPE PLAY mode

Press the MODE button.

The registration can be cleared as follows.

To clear a disc from registration in a “music type”: Play the disc to be registered and press the CLEAR button during playback.
